Exercise is not important. There is no debate. Routinely exercising is integral to your health, mental as well as physical. Although a simple adjustment, so many often lack the motivation and drive to do so.
However, remove any monotony, create an engaging and escapist environment which can track your efforts, and suddenly the consistent adoption of exercise goes through the roof!
Whether it be via VR, Connected Fitness or Wearables, there is incredible tech innovation coming through all the time.
The gamification of exercise is my passion. I created CIRQ with a vision to create a fully immersive exercise experience. A space for people to escape their busy/stressful lives and jump into a workout at any time that works for them and without having to think for a second ‘what do I do, what equipment shall I use, and how do I do it’.
We did it, CIRQ launched and its proprietary screen tech did exactly what we designed it to do. Sadly no one envisaged a pandemic and the effect it would have on a new start-up.
I am (healthily) obsessed by product and maximising customer experience by removing pain-points. I am fascinated by how leveraging varying forms of tech can promote engagement in exercise, especially when utilising gaming, performance capture and seamless community engagement.
